About the Business Unit

The Customer Experience unit ensures that Arts Centre Melbourne places the customer first by creating and delivering experiences of unique value. The team is accountable for delivering an integrated end-to-end customer journey, maximising community engagement in Arts Centre Melbourne’s enriching experiences by building brand loyalty, delivering effective campaigns and content to engage existing, new and diverse customers in our brand, artists, products, experiences and services.


Sitting within this unit is the Online team, which is responsible for the maintenance and optimisation of a fast moving ecommerce website, identifying and overseeing web development projects, undertaking email marketing and delivering online and search and display marketing campaigns. The key focus is to meet strict performance on sale deadlines, drive traffic and revenue growth and deliver an exceptional customer experience online.



Current Position Opportunity

The Customer Experience unit is looking for an experienced and passionate individual to join their Online Team as the Website Front-End Developer.  In collaboration with the Web Developer, you will contribute to the ongoing front end development and maintenance of Arts Centre Melbourne’s main website, related microsites and subsites. You will also provide accurate and up to date advice on website useability, accessibility, standards, trends, technologies and design to internal teams.  With your eye for detail and design you will create email marketing templates, electronic newsletters and other digital marketing assets for distribution.


To be successful in this role you will be qualified with strong technical development skills, including usability, UX and creating meaningful wireframes across multiple devices. You will have a strong focus on creating functional and responsive web applications and require knowledge and understanding of various web browsers and cross browser rendering issues along with knowledge of common bugs in these areas. Specific technical knowledge in XML, HTML, CSS and Javascript is essential. E-commerce and Sitecore experience will be highly regarded as will experience working with Angular.
