About the Role
Join our team as a Kitchen Steward, where you’ll support the Chief Steward in maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout all kitchen areas in our venues. This role will be responsible for contributing to the smooth operation of our kitchens whilst ensuring a high standard of hygiene and food safety is constantly being met.
Casual position. Band 1.0.01 $24.10 per hour + 25% casual loading.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Experience in a similar role within a dynamic environment
- The ability to thrive in a changing and high paced environment
- A positive attitude and great communication skills
- An understanding of food safety standards
- The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and also independently
- Availability to work mornings, afternoons or evenings on any day of the week (highly desirable)
- A relevant Tertiary/TAFE Cookery Qualification (desirable)

The Kitchen Brigade is responsible for the food delivery within Arts Centre Melbourne which contributes as a major driver of revenue.
The kitchen delivers a culinary experience on a multi-platform stage, catering for the culinary novice, the theatre going-crowds, world stage performers and a vast array of local and international dignitaries.
