About the Role

In the Building Maintenance Officer position, you will carry out a variety of duties including maintenance of building fabric, furniture and fittings for our theatres, as well as general building maintenance in various venues, including the State Theatre, Hamer Hall and Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

Working as part of the Facilities team, the Building Maintenance Officer will work efficiently to deliver the highest standards, meet the building maintenance requirements, while ensuring a safe and effective working environment.

Full-time ongoing position. Band 2.2 $66,770.00 plus superannuation.

 

To be successful you will require:

  • A trade qualification in Carpentry/Cabinet Making or relevant trade certificate or equivalent experience
  • Experience with and knowledge of safe work practices in accordance with OH&S legislation and regulations
  • Experience undertaking Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS)
  • A high level of understanding and actioning of task prioritisation and a high level of understanding and commitment to customer service are essential.
  • Good communication skills are important, as the successful candidate will be interacting with a variety of people across the organisation
  • Sound computer skills in using asset information management system would be an advantage.

This role is part of the Facilities Management Services team. They are responsible for the planning and effective operational management of the Arts Centre Melbourne services, buildings and precinct so our teams can deliver great services to our customers, stakeholders, and the public.
