About the Position
The Registrar, Music and Art is responsible for developing, managing and maintaining the official records of Arts Centre Melbourne’s Music and Art Collections. The role ensures best practice in collections management, including acquisition, registration, digitisation, preservation, storage and transport. It also supports the delivery of exhibitions and access programs by overseeing documentation, handling, logistics and risk management of collection objects. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, the Registrar provides expert advice and contributes to the ongoing care, accessibility and presentation of the State Collection of the Performing Arts and Public Art Collections.
Band 3.2 | Full Time Ongoing $85,347 (pro rata) + 12% superannuation
Your experience and skills (key criteria):
- Demonstrated experience in collections management and museum registration practices
- Strong knowledge of digitisation, conservation, and collection documentation standards
- Proven ability to manage exhibition logistics, loans, and object handling
- Excellent project management skills with ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse teams
