About the Position
The Development Manager (Capital Campaign) plays a pivotal specialist role in advancing Arts Centre Melbourne’s ambitious Reimagining Arts Centre Melbourne vision. Reporting to the Director, Philanthropy, this six-month fixed-term position is focused on building and activating a strong pipeline of new individual and corporate prospects to support the Imagine Anew Capital Campaign.
Working collaboratively across Development, Strategic Communications, and the Reimagining Arts Centre Melbourne team as well as with external stakeholders including MAPCo, the role leads the identification, qualification and cultivation of high-potential supporters, developing tailored engagement strategies that inspire transformational investment. Combining strategic prospecting, compelling proposal development and disciplined pipeline management, the Development Manager (Capital Campaign) will help secure the philanthropic support required to realise Arts Centre Melbourne’s future as a vibrant, inclusive and world-class cultural destination for all Victorians.
Full-time fixed term position. Band 4.3 $114,173.28 p.a. (pro rata) + superannuation
Your Skills and Experience

Possess a relevant tertiary level qualification and/or intermediate experience managing high net-worth
individuals and corporate philanthropy.

Demonstrated experience in fundraising, including design, implementation, and oversight of a specific
project or program within a complex organisational context.

Philanthropy plays a critical role at Arts Centre Melbourne, extending the reach and impact of the creative learning, access and inclusion, commissioning and arts wellbeing programs, and preserving and exhibiting Australia's cultural heritage through our Collection. With the significant disruption caused to the arts and culture sector by COVID-19, the role of philanthropy is more important than ever.
The Major Giving team is also key to the success of the Imagine Anew Capital Campaign for the Reimagining Arts Centre Melbourne project as part of the Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation.
