About the Role

As an Event Manager within the Conferences, Meetings & Events team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, seamless events across a diverse portfolio including corporate, private, and stakeholder functions. Acting as a central point of contact from initial client engagement through to event delivery, you will coordinate all aspects of the event lifecycle, ensuring exceptional client experiences and operational excellence.

Working collaboratively across multiple departments, you will translate client visions into well-executed events, balancing creativity with commercial outcomes. This role requires strong stakeholder management, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will contribute to revenue growth through client retention, proactive sales support, and participation in promotional activities, while also identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance service delivery.

With a focus on delivering memorable experiences, you will bring a flexible and solutions-oriented approach, ensuring each event not only meets but exceeds expectations, while aligning with organisational goals and brand standards.

Full time ongoing position. Salary band 3.1 $80,087.28 plus superannuation.

Your Skills and Experience (Key Criteria)

  • Relevant professional or tertiary qualification in Tourism and Hospitality Management or equivalent experience preferred
  • A firm understanding of venue sales and events process and event operations/challenges desirable
  • A creative and flexible approach with strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to foster and maintain ongoing professional and stakeholder relationships
  • Active leader who contributes to a positive and harmonious working environment
  • Strong planning, organisational and administration skills
  • Resilient to change; adapts to organisational focus & competing priorities and demands
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

About the Team

This team is responsible for the sales and planning of events for internal departments, resident companies and corporate clients of Arts Centre Melbourne function venues. The team comprises sales and event management to ensure a central touch point for all clients across the business.
