About the Position 

Arts Centre Melbourne is seeking a Creative Producer to join our Programming team, playing a pivotal role in shaping the performing arts experiences we bring to our stages and communities.

In this role, you'll lead the development and delivery of live performances, venue partnerships, and special projects that align with our strategic vision. You'll work across the full creative lifecycle—from early-stage ideation and artist sourcing through to budgeting, stakeholder negotiation, and handover to our producing team.

This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of creative ambition and operational rigour. You'll bring strong industry networks, sharp curatorial instincts, and the ability to balance artistic vision with financial sustainability. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams across marketing, ticketing, production, and strategic development, while building and maintaining relationships with artists, agents, presenters, and industry partners nationally and internationally.

Band 4.1| Full Time Fixed Term September 2027  $99,116.16 + 12% superannuation

 

Your experience and skills (key criteria): 

  • Lead the development and delivery of innovative, large-scale performing arts projects, partnerships, and live events aligned with Arts Centre Melbourne’s strategic goals
  • Drive creative programming through artist sourcing, project ideation, strategic planning, budgeting, and stakeholder collaboration across the arts sector
  • Manage complex projects and financially sustainable programs involving multiple stakeholders, funding channels, contracts, and operational teams
  •  Build and maintain strong industry relationships and partnerships, with a focus on First Nations-led experiences, equity, inclusion, and audience engagement
  • Bring advanced creative leadership, strategic thinking, financial acumen, communication skills, and deep performing arts industry knowledge and networks
