About the Position

The Procurement Assistant provides accurate and timely administrative support across the procure-to-pay cycle for Arts Centre Melbourne’s food and beverage operations. The role coordinates purchase requests, purchase orders, supplier communication, order fulfilment and invoice reconciliation, while maintaining accurate procurement, POS and inventory records. Working closely with suppliers, Finance, hospitality outlets, kitchens and operational teams, the role resolves routine transactional and data issues, supports stocktakes and month-end processes, and ensures procurement activity complies with policies, delegations and cost controls.

Variable Time Fixed Term April 2027 | 25 hours a week | Position Band 2.1 $61,635 (pro rata) + 12% superannuation

Your Skills and Experience

• Experience in procurement, purchasing, accounts payable or high-volume administration
• Experience processing purchase orders and tracking orders
• Experience with invoice and supplier statement reconciliation
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data management
• Ability to prioritise competing deadlines and follow up stakeholders
• Sound numerical literacy and intermediate Excel skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service and stakeholder relationship skills
• Experience with ERP, POS, inventory, finance or procurement systems
• Ability to maintain product, pricing and item master data
• Ability to process authorised system changes accurately
• Relevant qualification in business, procurement, supply chain or finance, or equivalent experience
• Hospitality, food and beverage, retail, arts or events experience desirable
• EATEC or comparable inventory/POS experience desirable
• Understanding of GST, PO matching, credit notes and AP desirable
• Valid Australian working rights
• Satisfactory National Police Check

The Customer Innovation team sits within the Destination and Audience Pillar and is responsible for the service and delivery of food and beverage activity across Arts Centre Melbourne, including the Theatres building, Hamer Hall and Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
